Job summary

A manufacturing company in Kedah is seeking a Project Costing & Sourcing Senior Executive. The role includes sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with various teams to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Candidates should possess a degree in Supply Chain Management or related fields and a minimum of 5 years in sourcing or purchasing within a manufacturing environment. Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of sourcing or purchasing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Minimum 5 years in managerial role for manager position.
  • Knowledge of LMW and import/export procedures is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

Project Costing & Sourcing Senior Executive

Source and evaluate new suppliers for tooling, raw materials, mechanical and electrical components, and manufacturing parts.

Request, compare, and analyze supplier quotations to achieve cost competitiveness and quality compliance.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize total cost and reliability.

Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure supplier capability meets technical requirements.

Participate in cost reduction, localization, and supplier development projects.

Complete costing calculation (RFQ) within the time frame.

Response to inquiries pertaining to new project and others relevant requirement.

Communicate with Sales to understand and fulfil customer requirements.

Resolve price discrepancy for supplier contract price, drive continuous improvement and systematic approach to the quote process.

Interpret customer documentation, specifications and drawings.

Determine cost estimate targets during the design and development process, recommending cost effective solutions.

Proactive to seek cost saving opportunities internally and externally.

Job Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering (Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronic) or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of sourcing or purchasing experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Minimum 5 years in managerial role if application for manager position.
  • Knowledge of LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse) and import/export procedures is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Excellent knowledge of Product Bill of Material (BOM) generation and product cost calculation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin (Dealing with overseas suppliers).
