Job summary

A manufacturing company in Penang is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage quality objectives and operation processes. The ideal candidate should possess a diploma in mechanical or material engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience. Knowledge in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485, and IATF16949 is required, alongside experience in the plastic and silicone rubber industry. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance to SOPs, managing KPI related to yield and quality, and preparing work instructions.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• To assist plan and request the related training to meet quality objectives.
• To assist plan and conduct on-the-job training from time to time as when necessary On-the-job training shall conduct with commensurate to the level of education the employee.
• Managing the operation processes and related outputs compliance to its SOP.
• To assist in managing the achievement of the Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
• Data collecting, analysis and update the relevant record to ensure production quality, safety & environment standards are complied with.
• Lead the APQP team and ensure that project schedule and product specifications meet or surpass customer's expectation.
• Responsible for total program management, and development from ESI/DFM involvement, tooling development, tooling modification, first article submission, & reports sample preparation & submission. pre-production and approval.
• Review and approve engineering documents prior to production release based on customer specification and requirement.
• Review customer 3D data and drawings, bill of materials (BOM), specification and standard parts TDS.
• Initiate Engineering Change Deviation Notification (ECDN) and Internal Change Request Form (ICRF) and update of the latest product specification and drawing from customer.
• Correcting, preventing or reducing undesired effects in order to improve the performance and effectiveness of the process.
• Primary drivers for yield, quality and improvement projects. Responsible of the yield and quality KPI.
• To prepare process work instruction (WI) for each production process.
• To carry out and oversee cost reduction and improvement projects.
• Responsible for reviewing FMEA, Control Plan, Procedures and SOPs.
• Attend the team feasibility study for newly assigned projects.
• Redefine products and material specifications to improve the manufacturability.
• Involve in cross function teamwork to tackle and resolve any complaints by customers and reduce process COPQ.
• To liaise with internal team for new mold testing & trouble shooting.
• Study new projects process flow and packaging standards.
• Follow up ECN and sample submission
• Prepare mold repair record and follow up mold repair status.
• Liaise with related department for replying of corrective and preventive action.

Qualifications

• Diploma & above in mechanical engineering /Material engineering or at least 3-5 years of working experience in similar field / position.
• Having knowledge in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO13485 & IATF16949.
• Experience in Plastic / Silicone rubber industry.
