Job description

As a Production Line Engineer at SAMURAI YAKINIKU SDN. BHD., you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the efficiency of our production lines. This full-time position is based in Elmina, Selangor, where you will work collaboratively with our manufacturing team to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement in our assembly and process work.

What you'll be doing
  • Monitor daily production line operations to ensure output meets production targets, schedules, and product specifications.
  • Ensure smooth workflow from raw material preparation through processing to finished product packaging.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues that impact productivity and efficiency.
  • Analyze production data including output, downtime, yield, and wastage.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Lean manufacturing, and 5S.
  • Ensure production processes comply with food quality and safety standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, where applicable).
  • Monitor critical parameters (CCPs) and take corrective actions in the event of non-compliance.
  • Work closely with the QA/QC team to address quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment operate at optimal performance.
  • Support troubleshooting activities and preventive maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Propose improvements to machinery, equipment, or work methods suitable for F&B manufacturing processes.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, and Process Flow documentation.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on production line performance.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to quality and food safety compliance.
  • Provide basic guidance and training to operators on process requirements, quality standards, and food safety practices.
  • Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, QA/QC, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in evaluating operator performance in terms of process and SOP compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene practices, food safety requirements, and occupational safety standards.
  • Enforce the use of PPE and adherence to hygiene and safety procedures within the production area.
What we're looking for
  • Degree in Engineering, with a focus on Manufacturing, Production or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production engineering or process engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment and automation technologies
  • Proficient in data analysis and the use of process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations
