Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Specialist responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials from local and overseas vendors. The successful candidate will evaluate vendor quotations, manage purchase orders, and resolve supply and quality issues. A Diploma/Degree in Procurement and at least 2 years of relevant experience are required. Overview

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials from both local and overseas vendors. Key duties include evaluating vendor quotations, managing purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery, resolving supply and quality issues, and overseeing vendor performance. The role involves advising on purchasing terms and conditions, implementing procurement strategies to meet delivery and lead time requirements, and supporting ISO performance reviews. The Procurement Specialist will also handle day-to-day operational needs and contribute to the overall procurement process as required by management.

Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase materials from local and overseas vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor quotations to ensure alignment with the technical and commercial specifications required for the project.
  • Advise internal and external parties on issues regarding purchasing terms & conditions.
  • Plan, issue, and follow up on purchase orders, delivery, and shipment schedules.
  • Resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues with vendors.
  • Assist in ISO annual performance review for vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time & best prices, and ensure all criteria are met according to organizational requirements and expectations.
  • Implement internal procurement strategies to cater to high delivery and short lead time requirements.
  • Any other duties as relevant will be assigned from time to time by management.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum Diploma/Degree in Procurement or any relevant discipline or equivalent.
  • Preferred 2 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in customer service will be appreciated.
  • Well versed in all customs regulations and requirements.
