Job description

Provide procurement support for the organization and ensure that all procurement decisions and activities are performed based on the principles of transparency, objectivity and compliance to internal controls.

Collaborate with business users to deliver optimum cost savings and efficiencies.

Proactively conduct market intelligence to identify new market trends and identify potential new vendors.

Ensure internal customer inquiry/complaints on vendor performance are rectified and solved on timely basis.

Review approved Purchase Requisitions and dispatch Purchase Orders to vendors on a timely manner.

Ensure strict compliance to the procurement policy at all times.

Prepare relevant data/reports for the compilation of the monthly procurement dashboard, as required.

Ensure all procurement related documents are properly archived according to the SOP requirements and for audit purposes.

Provide back-up support for the other procurement members of the department when required.

Provide relevant training and support to existing and new business users where and when necessary.

Participate in all internal and external audit processes involving the procurement department.

Requirements for this position:

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related academic discipline.

Has at least 2-3 years of work experience in the area of Procurement / Sourcing.

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, any field.

At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Applicants must be willing to work in Penang.

Preferably candidates specializing in Purchasing/Inventory/Material & Warehouse Management or equivalent.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Has good business acumen, strong negotiation, presentation & analytical skills and an eye for details.

Proactively employs strategic and critical thinking skills in solving issues and challenges; exhibits sound and practical judgement.

Has good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Enjoys working in a fast paced environment, and is able to stay focused with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
