Job summary

A reputable chemical company in Port Klang is seeking a Process Engineer to ensure plants operate within design parameters and to improve process safety. The role includes monitoring plant performance, providing corrective actions for abnormalities, and delivering technical training to the Production team. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, along with 2-3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in chemical or petrochemical sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputable university with 2nd class upper and above.
  • 2-3 years working experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably chemical, oleochemical, or petrochemical.
  • Good command of engineering simulation software (HYSYS/UniSim) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plants operate in compliance with design parameters and process safety.
  • Monitor and report plant unit consumption and process KPI.
  • Provide corrective actions for process abnormalities and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical training to Production for better process understanding.
  • Perform plant commissioning, trial runs, startup, and shutdown.
  • Coordinate and plan mechanical, instrument, and electrical work during turnarounds.

Job description

Ensuring plants operated in compliance with design parameters and process safety

Provides corrective actions (RCA) for process abnormality / alarm / troubleshooting

Provide technical training to Production for better process understanding and upgrading their work standard

Perform plant commissioning, trial runs, startup and shutdown

During turnaround, coordinate, plan and organize mechanical, instrument and electrical work requirement with Production team

Responsible for plant improvement, process troubleshooting

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from reputable university with 2nd class upper and above

2-3 years working experiences in manufacturing industry preferably chemical, oleochemical or petrochemical

Able to perform heat and mass balance and pressure loss calculation

Good command in engineering simulation software (HYSYS/UniSim, HTRI) will be an added advantage

Knowledge of GMP, FSSC22000 will be added advantage
