Job description

The Process Engineer analyzes process performance and identifies areas for improvement. He/she is responsible for maintaining and improving processes in the manufacturing & logistics environment. This will involve troubleshooting, reviewing current processes, work methodologies, equipment, supplies and recommending changes to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and reducing cost. Qualifications and engineering evaluations are also expected.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Analyzes process performance and identifies areas for improvement.
  • Investigate process issues and complaints, working closely with QA to resolve internal process issues, customer complaints and feedback (including 8D reporting & providing inputs to MRB).
  • Drive first-pass yield improvement to meet specified targets.
  • Process owner for SPC, chairing periodic reviews and analysis for improvement.
  • Ownership of process FMEAs and Control Plans, ensuring they are kept up to date and effectively implemented (including chairing periodic reviews and driving improvements).
  • Process owner of Change Management system (including TEOs) and ensure it is effectively implemented.
  • Be the subject matter expert for label design and printing process, ensuring its effectiveness and providing training to users.
  • Develop and maintain workflow process and procedures in conjunction with QA, Manufacturing & Logistics to achieve quality production and logistics goals.
  • Perform internal audits (Quality and Environmental System).
  • Support qualification of new products (NPI, APQP), coordinating and working closely with cross-functional team.
  • Attend to customer queries and customer meetings relating to process performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional and cross-site projects and be able to contribute and lead discussions effectively.
  • Any other duties & responsibilities which the Management / Superior may assign from time to time.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electronic/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of work experience as a process engineer in a MNC manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in maintaining process line and developing new process for improving quality, efficiency and productivity.
  • Experience in applying sound engineering concepts to improve processes.
  • Good Project Management skills with ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience in IATF16949, VDA6.3, ISO9001 and ISO14001 advantageous.
  • Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
