Job summary

A leading semiconductor solution provider in Shah Alam, Malaysia seeks a Compliance Manager to oversee export control and logistics operations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and over 5 years of experience in export control, with strong knowledge of Malaysia’s Strategic Trade Act and U.S. EAR regulations. You will ensure compliance, manage customs processes, and provide internal guidance within a flexible hybrid work environment.

Job description
  • Ensure compliance withMalaysia’s Strategic Trade Act 2010 (STA 2010), including permit applications, brokering activities, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Interpret and applyU.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including ECCN classification and license determination.
  • ConductExport Control Classification (ECCN)andHS Code classificationfor goods and technologies.
  • Manage customs clearance processes and coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Overseelogistics operations, including import/export documentation, shipment tracking, and trade data accuracy.
  • UtilizeSAP and GTSsystems for trade compliance workflows, including screening, classification, and documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and provide guidance to internal teams on export control and customs compliance matters.
  • Support internal audits and external inspections related to trade compliance.
  • Liaise with Malaysian authorities (e.g., MITI/STS) and U.S. BIS as needed for licensing and compliance matters.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international Trade, Logistics, Law, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in export control, customs compliance, or international logistics.
  • In-depth knowledge ofSTA 2010andU.S. EARregulations.
  • Strong understanding ofECCNandHS code classificationmethodologies.
  • Proficiency inSAPandGTSmodules related to trade compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; ability to work cross-functionally and across cultures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in export control or customs compliance (e.g., CUSECO, CCS).
  • Experience working in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
  • Familiarity with EU dual-use regulations and other international control regimes.
