Job Overview

We are seeking a Member of Technical Staff System Validation Engineer to be a founding member of Client and Graphics System Engineering (CGSE) validation team in Penang, MRDC. You will lead post‑silicon system validation across silicon, BIOS/UEFI, firmware, drivers, and OS, while building local team capability, process, and lab infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with global architecture, design, pre‑silicon, firmware, software, and validation teams to deliver high quality products within aggressive schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build up and develop system validation capability as the key technical lead in MRDC CGSE team: lab bring‑up (equipment/specs/ESD/safety), workflows, and tool chains.
  • Mentor and grow a high‑performing team; establish training plans across IP domains; foster a culture of strong execution, technical rigor, and ownership.
  • Influence hiring, onboarding, and technical career development.
  • Learn AMD silicon and system features; understand new features in silicon, BIOS, firmware, SW, etc. Develop team capability on each IP/Domain.
  • Partner with global leaders to deliver successful products, including validation planning, hands‑on execution, prioritization, and issue resolving.
  • Drive process optimization for the program execution, collaborate with global teams to make program execution more efficient and with high quality.
  • Drive decision making around conflicting priorities and complex issue resolution.
  • Provide clear and timely program reports that highlight risks, mitigations, and recommendations.
Preferred Experience
  • Technical lead in system or post‑silicon validation of complex PC/graphics products.
  • Self‑starter, excellent communication skills, and can work with minimal guidance.
  • Familiar with Windows and Linux environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership coaching new team members, collaboration across multiple R&D sites, and effective decision‑making capability with ambiguity.
  • Proven skills in driving organizational changes, improvements, and initiatives.
  • Script or coding (Python, C, Perl, Ruby) capability is a strong plus.
  • Prior experience building up a new validation team is a plus.
  • Fluent both English and Mandarin is a plus.
Academic Credentials
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree (MS) preferred.
