Job summary

A global engineering consultancy in Johor Bahru is seeking a skilled Project Planner to lead planning and scheduling for complex data center construction projects. You will develop and manage schedules, monitor progress, and report key metrics. Ideal candidates will have 8–12 years of planning experience and strong skills in Primavera P6 and MS Project. We are seeking a highly skilled Project Planner to lead planning, scheduling, and progress tracking for complex, fast‑paced data center construction projects. This role requires a hands‑on approach, deep technical understanding, and the ability to adapt schedules based on real‑time site conditions. You’ll play a critical role in keeping the project on track from design coordination through to commissioning and handover. This role is a 14‑month contract role.

The Opportunity
  • Develop and manage baseline schedules, look‑ahead programs, and progress tracking tools.
  • Plan and sequence fast‑track activities, including parallel works and phased handovers.
  • Monitor contractor progress on‑site, validate claims, and assess recovery plans with mitigation strategies.
  • Report key metrics through dashboards, S‑curves, earned value analysis, and visual updates.
  • Work collaboratively with contractors, PMC teams, and clients to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables.

Is this role right for you?
  • 8–12 years of planning experience on large‑scale construction projects, ideally data centers or mission‑critical builds.
  • Strong grasp of full lifecycle project phases including design, MEP, architectural, IT readiness, T&C, and approvals.
  • Expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, and schedule reporting tools.
  • In‑depth knowledge of WBS structures tailored for colocator data centers.
  • A proactive, site‑driven mindset with strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
