In this full‑time position based in Bayan Lepas, Penang, you will play a pivotal role in the company's production planning and scheduling operations. As a Planner, you will be responsible for optimising workflows, coordinating resources, and ensuring the timely delivery of products to our valued customers.

Job Description

The Planner cum Buyer is responsible for supporting production planning and procurement activities to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery for manufacturing operations. This role assists in planning schedules, coordinating with suppliers, and monitoring inventory levels. Training will be provided, and fresh graduates with strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning
  • Assist in preparing and updating production schedules based on orders and inventory levels.
  • Follow up with Production and Warehouse teams to ensure materials and work orders are ready on time.
  • Monitor WIP (Work in Progress) and highlight any potential delays or material shortages.
  • Update planning data and reports in the ERP/MRP system.
  • Support planning activities for new products or engineering changes.
Purchasing & Procurement
  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and consumables according to production needs.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to suppliers.
  • Follow up on delivery status and coordinate with Warehouse for incoming inspection.
  • Support supplier communication regarding lead time, pricing, and delivery updates.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all purchasing transactions.
Inventory Control
  • Check and monitor inventory levels to avoid stockout or overstock situations.
  • Support cycle count activities and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Ensure material data, safety stock, and reorder points are kept updated.
Coordination & Documentation
  • Work closely with Sales/Customer Service, Warehouse, Production, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare planning, purchasing, and inventory reports for management review.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance planning and purchasing efficiency.
Job Requirements
Education
  • Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or any related field.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply (training will be provided).
