Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing audit reports including any special tasks or projects requested by the Managing Director (MD).
  • Conduct performance, operational, financial and compliance audit field work and report significant issues related to the businesses and operational processes.
  • Propose action plans and recommendations for continuous improvement for the organization’s operations and to safeguard company assets and resources through risk analysis, cost analysis and financial analysis.
  • Provide financial advice and input to management decisions and assist in developing business objectives, strategies and work plans for the operating unit.
  • Study monthly management accounts and reports to coordinate the preparation of operating plans and enable the company to make accurate and timely business decisions.
  • Assist the MD in recommending and monitoring investments to maximize earnings within the overall risk management policies.
  • Liaise with other managers and staff to ensure the quality management system is functioning properly.
  • Coordinate with respective department heads to ensure standard operating procedures are maintained and continuously functioning.
  • Attend and participate in all meetings with the MD; prepare reports for meetings if required and monitor action items to update the MD.
  • Monitor external climate and provide up-to-date market information and social trends.
  • Handle and maintain confidential works and records.
  • Delegate and assign job responsibilities to subordinates and evaluate performance using MJPA and KPI tools.
  • Ensure work qualities such as multi-tasking ability, dependability, attention to detail and good team spirit.
  • Undertake any other assigned special projects and ad hoc duties as directed by management.
Requirements
  • Professional qualifications in Accounting/ Degree in Accountancy, Business Studies, Hospitality Management or related field
  • At least 15 years of working experience in auditing, fraud investigation, risk management, financial & operation analysis, preferably with experience in a medium to large internal audit practice
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in hotel management is an added advantage
  • Possess strong auditing skills with an understanding of the business and accounting processes of the company in the aforementioned industries
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in governance, internal control or compliance matters
  • Strong written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost and quality constraints
