Job Summary (Payroll Analyst)
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for a multi-state employee base, adhering to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
This role involves data processing, analysis, reconciliation, and providing exceptional support to employees regarding payroll inquiries.
Job Responsibilities
- Process multiple site off‑cycle payrolls for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure all monthly payrolls are computed accurately and paid timely for one or more sites.
- Administer and maintain accurate employee pay elements in the payroll system.
- Ensure payroll processing is in accordance with established Global Processes and Compliance Control.
- Perform analytical reviews of payroll transactions to identify errors and drive compliance with payroll guidelines.
- Prepare and process payroll‑related journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Calculate and process statutory and voluntary deductions, including taxes, EPF, Socso, EIS, benefits & etc.
- Ensure 100% compliance in statutory submissions and reporting deadlines.
- Prepare and submit various payroll related reports as per scheduled timelines.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay up‑to‑date with changes in federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and IT departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
- Generate payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
- Participate in payroll system upgrades and testing as needed.
- Perform any other tasks or assignments delegated or assigned by his / her supervisor.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in multi‑state payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAP, Workday, similar software) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
