A health organization in Malaysia is seeking a Patient Support Supervisor for a temporary position of 5 months. The successful candidate will oversee a team of Community Case Workers and ensure patient support activities align with established protocols. Responsibilities include managing case reviews, developing patient support tools, and collaborating with medical staff. Essential qualifications include a recognized social work or nursing degree, with experience in team supervision and a commitment to patient care. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
MSF & KM6 carries out patient support through case management; a support strategy that is comprehensive and looks at all aspects of the patients’ life, in order to maximize health outcomes. This includes consideration the socioeconomic, documentation and health status of the patient. The Patient Support Supervisor will be overseeing this support, which is carried out by a team of 9 Community Case Workers. Interventions include making decisions on what meets MSFs’ financial criteria, creating rehabilitation plans, hospital visits, communicating with partners including UNHCR and carrying out hospital visits and family conferences.
In close collaboration with the Medical Activity Manager, supervising the implementation of patient support activities according to MSF & KM6 protocols, standards and procedures in order to empower the patient in front of his illness and treatment, beyond the purely medical aspects of care.
