Position Title

Officer, ULD Logistics (Technical)

Reporting To

Executive, ULD Logistics

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for overseeing the execution of Unit Load Device (ULD) repair and maintenance work carried out by the appointed vendor, and for monitoring ULD stock control to ensure the units are serviceable and available to meet operational requirements.

Key Accountability
  1. Ensure the timely completion of ULD maintenance and repair work carried out by the appointed vendor in accordance with agreed timelines.
  2. Ensure that all ULD maintenance work meets the required quality standards as outlined by IATA, manufacturers, and company requirements.
  3. Conduct regular audits and inspections of ULDs and vendor repair facilities.
  4. Track and monitor the net replacement of all pallets.
  5. Maintain accurate records of ULD movements, repairs, and losses through the ULD management system.
  6. Monitor ULDs deemed beyond economical repair and propose their disposal and replacement to ULD Management.
  7. Support and contribute to departmental and company cost‑saving initiatives.
  8. Uphold and maintain high quality standards in all assigned tasks as required by authorized parties and customers.
  9. Promote and adhere to good housekeeping practices, and maintain strong awareness of quality, safety, and workplace discipline.
  10. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant sections.
  11. Optimize resources to reduce downtime, repair costs, and spare‑part inventory.
  12. Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and all other company‑mandated management systems.
  13. Assist the IMS Document Controller with ULD Logistics processes related to serviceability procedures.
  14. Prepare monthly reports, including repair logs, repair costs, ULD downtime/performance, pallet net replacement, and ULDs classified as beyond economical repair.
  1. Conduct housekeeping activities at the ULD yard to ensure proper storage of ULDs and maintain the cleanliness of the workshop.
  2. Participate in new project developments related to ULD tracking technologies (e.g., RFID, Bluetooth tags) and process automation, as required.
  3. Perform welding tasks as needed.
  4. Comply with all company and regulatory safety and security policies and procedures.
Qualification & Working Experience
  • Minimum of SPM/SPMV/DVM/STPM or Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Aviation Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Technical certifications in aviation ground operations, ULD management, or maintenance (advantageous)
  • Advantage and good to have:
    • Certification in ULD operations such as those offered by IATA (International Air Transport Association)12.
    • Training in relevant regulations and standards, including IATA ULD Regulations (ULDR).
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in cargo operations, ULD management, aircraft ground handling, or technical/logistics support
Areas of Experience

Knowledge of airline operations, logistics, and IATA/ULD standards, with familiarity in ULD handling, tracking, and maintenance.
