Occupational Therapist / Carer / Shadow Teacher (2 Positions)
Location: Shah Alam, Selangor
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: RM2,500 – RM3,500 per month
About the Role
We are looking for two dedicated, caring, and responsible Occupational Therapists / Carers / Shadow Teachers to support children in their daily routines, learning activities, and developmental needs. The ideal candidates should have a passion for child development, patience, and the ability to provide structured guidance to help children thrive both at home and in school environments.
Key Responsibilities
Child Development Support
- Provide one-to-one assistance to children during daily routines and learning sessions.
- Support fine motor, gross motor, sensory, behavioural, and cognitive development.
- Assist in building independence, social skills, emotional regulation, and communication skills.
- Implement personalised intervention plans recommended by therapists, teachers, or parents.
Shadow Teacher Duties (if placed in school)
- Accompany the child during school hours and ensure they remain engaged in lessons.
- Reinforce classroom instructions and help break tasks manageable steps.
- Facilitate positive behaviour and peer interaction.
- Work closely with teachers to monitor progress and manage challenges.
Caregiving Responsibilities
- Ensure the child’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing at all times.
- Assist with daily routines such as meals, transitions, personal care (when required), and scheduling.
- Provide a calm, patient, and supportive presence throughout daily activities.
Communication & Reporting
- Update parents regularly on progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Maintain simple documentation on the child’s development, achievements, and challenges.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure consistent support.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or related fields (advantage but not compulsory for Carer/Shadow Teacher roles).
- Experience working with children (especially those needing learning or behavioural support) is highly preferred.
- Patient, compassionate, responsible, and able to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Melayu and English.
- Able to work full-time in Shah Alam.
- Must be trustworthy, punctual, and committed to long-term child development.
Working Hours
- Full-time (Monday–Friday).
- Some flexibility may be required depending on the child’s schedule and school sessions.
