Job summary

A leading manufacturing company located in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer to support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and improve manufacturing processes. Candidates should hold a degree in Engineering and have at least 3 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. Key responsibilities include developing SOPs, optimizing processes, and designing jigs for quality control. Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential, along with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team setting.

Qualifications

Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from the initial First Article (FA) stage through qualification and approval of fabricated parts, ensuring readiness for mass production.
  • Define, create, and maintain project process routing and Bill of Material (BOM) for new and existing products to ensure accurate manufacturing execution.
  • Design, develop, and implement jigs and fixtures to support process control, productivity improvement, and quality consistency for both new and ongoing projects.
  • Develop, analyze, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce production costs, minimize defects, and enhance overall product quality.
  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for sheet metal manufacturing processes to ensure standardized practices, effective training, and knowledge transfer.
Education
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred)
Type of Working Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a related manufacturing or engineering field, preferably in sheet metal fabrication.
Knowledge / Skills and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, forming, welding, and finishing.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks or other similar 3D CAD software.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team player with good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
