Responsibility
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with parents, administrators, and support staff.
- Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and assistive technologies to support students' learning and promote their academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in both individual and small group settings, focusing on specific skill development and remediation.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, using formal and informal assessments to track growth and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, implementing positive behavior support strategies and interventions to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, providing updates, addressing concerns, and collaborating on strategies to support learning at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, including IEP goals, assessment data, and anecdotal observations.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists, counselors, and psychologists, to provide comprehensive support services to students with special needs.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices in special education and enhance teaching skills.
