A leading healthcare provider in George Town, Penang is seeking experienced medical practitioners to provide outpatient care and emergency services. Candidates should possess an MBBS/MD and have a minimum of 6 years experience in Malaysia's healthcare sector. Responsibilities include supervising medical records, promoting healthy lifestyles among staff, and providing triage. A commitment to shift work is necessary, as is valid registration with the Malaysian Medical Council.
Island Hospital Sdn Bhd – George Town, Penang
Attend to staff requiring medical attention on an outpatient basis. If indicated, refers staff to the appropriate specialist.
Promote healthy life‑styles to staff.
Supervises and ensures that proper medical records are kept for all patients attended to at the Staff Medical Care unit. Observes full confidentiality on all patients seen.
Perform the medical examination for new employees as referred by Management.
Attend to cases at the Accident and Emergency unit and other wards/units pending the arrival of the relevant consultant.
Provide emergency care duties for patients when called upon and provide medical back up to consultants in the ICU/CCU unit and other wards/units if required.
Execute executive screening programs and be on standby for cases undergoing stress test at the Heart Centre.
Carry out “on call duties” for emergency coverage of the hospital and A&E as per monthly time table schedule.
Carry out procedures as requested by the Consultants.
Carry out other medical care duties as may be assigned by the Hospital from time to time.
To be involved in the continuous safety and performance improvement activities within the service and hospital wide.
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) / Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 6 years post‑graduation working experience in a public or private hospital in Malaysia.
Possess a valid registration with the Malaysian Medical Council with a valid Annual Practicing Certificate.
Committed to be part of a team providing 24‑hour medical cover including providing first line triage and resuscitation to any patient, visitor or staff as may be required.
Able to work in shifts including night duty
