A leading engineering firm in Subang Jaya is looking for an experienced engineer to manage the design and execution of custody transfer flow metering systems. The role involves reviewing customer specifications, engineering calculations, and procurement of mechanical equipment. Candidates must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and minimum 5 years in project execution in the chemical or oil & gas industry. Strong knowledge of engineering codes is required, and the ability to travel internationally is a plus.
Responsible for the design, engineering & project execution of custody transfer flow metering / analytical systems.
Reviews customer's specification and provides solutions to customer's technical needs.
Performs engineering calculations and prepares engineering documents such as specification, data sheet, Pipe Stress Analysis, Structure Analysis, Lifting Analysis, test procedures, drawings / diagrams etc.
Checks and reviews engineering drawings such as P&lD, GA Drawing, Lifting Drawings, Isometrics (shop drawings) etc.
Checks and reviews mechanical vendor's document & drawing deliverables.
Conducts evaluation, selection and procurement of mechanical equipment and other buy-outs.
Participates in installation supervision, internal tests, factory acceptance test and provides commissioning support.
Coordinates with other discipline engineers for efficient project execution to meet customer's technical requirement, delivery schedule and quality standard.
Will be responsible for both local (Malaysia) and international projects.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years working experience in engineering design & project execution in chemical, petrochemical or oil & gas industry.
Prior experience in custody transfer / allocation metering and / or piping system design, execution, and operation is an advantage.
Familiar with typical piping & mechanical equipment related engineering codes i.e. API, AGA, ISO, ASTM, ASME etc. used in oil & gas industry.
Strong knowledge in piping design, fabrication, and mechanical equipment (valves, pumps, strainers, etc.)
Familiar with the specification / operations / maintenance of typical mechanical equipment supplied on custody transfer / allocation metering systems i.e. valves, pump, strainer, QOC etc.
Familiar with piping & structure fabrication related processes and ability to work with the fabrication / construction teams (within company) and with the fabricators (sub contractors).
Able to interact positively with all AP countries, recognising and adapting to the cultural differences that exist.
Able to travel locally / internationally, as and when required.
