Job description

The Materials Systems Analyst is responsible for enhancing and optimizing processes and systems that support the Materials Operations team. This includes functions such as Planning, Purchasing, Engineering Change (EC), and Inventory Control. The role focuses on driving system improvements, developing data‑driven solutions, and supporting operational teams to ensure effective materials flow and supply chain performance.

The analyst will work closely with functional managers and cross‑functional stakeholders to evaluate system needs, identify improvement opportunities, and support the successful deployment of materials‑related processes and tools. This role also serves as a trainer and subject‑matter resource in enabling system adoption and continuous improvement across the materials organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the assessment, development, and deployment of material planning and purchasing systems for assigned sectors or customers.
  • Collaborate with materials functions—Planning, Purchasing, EC, and Inventory Control—to develop process solutions that improve operational efficiency and system accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and rollout of standardized processes to support demand management, procurement execution, BOM accuracy, and inventory control.
  • Create and maintain analytics, dashboards, and KPIs that support materials performance evaluation.
  • Provide continuous support for materials management tools, including testing, enhancement evaluation, and deployment coordination.
  • Conduct training sessions and prepare documentation for updated processes or system improvements.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes, procurement workflows, EC management, and inventory activities.
  • Review existing systems (SAP, RapidResponse, Excel) for optimization opportunities and evaluate potential new solutions.
  • Document business requirements and collaborate with IT teams to ensure effective execution of system enhancements.
  • Support cross‑functional supply chain optimization initiatives involving multiple materials functions.
  • Ensure consistent application of standard materials processes while supporting necessary customization.
  • Build strong partnerships with Advanced Planning, IT, and Materials Operations teams to support overall efficiency and performance.
Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong understanding and hands‑on experience in at least one materials function:
    • Planning,
    • Purchasing,
    • Engineering Change (EC/BOM/ECN), or
    • Inventory Control.
  • Practical knowledge of BOM structures, material lifecycle, and the impact of EC changes on materials requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with SAP, RapidResponse, and advanced Excel is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret materials‑related documents, operational guidelines, and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in presenting and training users on processes or systems.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in Planning, Purchasing, EC/BOM management, Inventory Control, or business analytics within the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
