Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Penang is looking for a professional to manage material control and procurement processes. You will be responsible for generating purchase orders based on the product BOM and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. This role requires close collaboration with production and shipping teams to optimize resource usage and minimize costs. Experience in inventory management and materials planning is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of material control and production processes is essential.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and external stakeholders.
• Experience in procurement and inventory management is advantageous.

• Generate purchase orders for materials based on product BOM.
• Coordinate with suppliers on lead times and ETA for materials.
• Monitor production schedules to meet delivery commitments.

Job description

Generate P.O to purchase all the direct and indirect materials accordingly to the product BOM for Polar and later to other customer as specific Management.

Coordinate with suppliers or customers on lead time and ETA for all the direct and indirect or customers consigned direct materials.

Work closely with Production Executive, Product Engineer, SMT Engineer, Final Assembly Engineer to ensure production schedule are smoothly executed accordingly to the production plan/schedule to meet customer's delivery schedule.

Special focus and attention must be given to the material control to ensure all the customer P.O are closed with zero loss in quantity on customer consigned materials and return good finished product and defective units in full quantity according to their D.O quantity . There must be an obsolete effective system implemented for material planning and material control.

Responsible for total control of all material purchased or consigned by customer, work in progress (WIP) materials as well as outgoing finished goods to ensure minimum wastage of material used on production.

Able to liaise with Production Executive on direct and indirect materials to ensure smooth production.

Able to liaise with Shipping personnel to ensure minimum shipping cost on incoming direct and indirect materials.

Able to liaise with Store personnel to ensure effective control of the direct and indirect material.

Able to liaise with Custom and Forwarding agents.
