Job description
JOB OBJECTIVE

The objective of the Material Handler role is to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of materials to support all production operations, including NPI builds and validation activities such as IQ, OQ, and PQ, in order to prevent downtime and maintain smooth manufacturing flow. The role aims to uphold full compliance with ISO13485, GMP, and traceability requirements in all material handling processes, while maintaining high inventory accuracy through proper labeling, lot control, FIFO/FEFO practices, and precise ERP/MRP transactions. The Material Handler is also responsible for protecting product quality by maintaining a clean, organized, and controlled storage environment, ensuring safe handling of materials and equipment, and actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material flow, warehouse efficiency, and overall operational effectiveness.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • 3.1 Issue and deliver materials to production lines according to the Production Order (PO) / Work Order (WO) schedule.
  • 3.2 Ensure FIFO/FEFO system is strictly followed for all materials.
  • 3.3 Prepare and kit materials for daily production, NPI batches, and validation builds (e.g., IQ/OQ/PQ, line trials).
  • 3.4 Return unused materials from production to the warehouse with proper labeling and documentation.
  • 3.5 Receive, inspect, and verify incoming raw materials, components, and consumables.
  • 3.6 Update ERP/MRP systems with accurate material movements.
  • 3.7 Conduct cycle counts and participate in monthly/quarterly inventory audits.
  • 3.8 Report discrepancies, shortages, or potential stock‑outs to Supervisor/Planner.
  • 3.9 Ensure all material records, labels, and transactions comply with ISO13485, GMP, and traceability requirements.
  • 3.10 Maintain clean, organized, and properly segregated storage areas (approved, quarantine, non‑conforming).
  • 3.11 Handle materials with proper documentation such as GRN, batch/lot tracking, and CoC/CoA filing.
  • 3.12 Support EtO sterilization material staging when required.
  • 3.13 Follow company EHS, 5S, and safety procedures when handling materials, chemicals, or heavy loads.
  • 3.14 Operate pallet jacks, stackers, and forklifts (if licensed).
  • 3.15 Perform basic checks and preventive care on warehouse equipment.
AUTHORITIES

The Material Handler is authorized to perform all material‑related transactions in the ERP/MRP system as assigned, including issuing, returning, and transferring materials within controlled parameters. The role is permitted to reject or place materials into quarantine if damage, discrepancies, or non‑conformities are identified during receiving or handling, and to elevate such issues to the Supervisor, QA, or relevant departments. The Material Handler is also authorized to access controlled storage areas, including raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods staging zones, and may operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, stackers, or forklifts (if licensed). Additionally, the Material Handler has the authority to halt material issuance if traceability information or documentation is incomplete, incorrect, or presents a risk of mix‑up or non‑compliance.
