We are looking for Materia Controller candidates who are open to being stationed in Northern Malaysia.
Responsibilities
Material Management:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and equipment for visual quality and quantity against delivery documents.
- Track and control inventory levels to ensure continuous supply without overstocking.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of PV modules, mounting structures, cables, inverters, and other electrical components.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, deliveries, and material usage.
- Update material tracking logs and inventory databases regularly.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on material status and movement.
Coordination:
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, construction, and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Coordinate with vendors and transporters for delivery schedules and resolve any supply chain issues
- Work closely with the site team in terms of construction material deliveries and receiving.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all materials are stored as per manufacturer recommendations and safety standards.
- Assist with material inspections and ensure non-conforming items are reported and quarantined.
- Assist in preparation of material damage report including the chronology of event.
Site Logistics:
- Plan and manage on-site material layout to ensure efficient distribution and minimal handling.
- Support the construction team with timely issuance of materials to meet installation targets.
Skills and Competencies Required
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, ERP platforms, and digital material tracking tools.
- Knowledge of PV equipment, electrical components, and solar construction materials.
- Strong organizational skills with high accuracy in documentation and data entry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel, digital material tracking tools, and basic cloud-based and reporting software.
- Effective communication for coordination across procurement, logistics, QA/QC, engineering, and site teams.
- Ability to forecast material requirements based on construction schedules, work progress, and installation sequence.
- Basic understanding of quality compliance, MIR processes, and non-conformance handling procedures.
- Capability in material receiving, storage logistics, issuance, FIFO/FEFO, and warehouse safety.
- Experience in preparing stock reconciliation and resolving stock discrepancies.
- Proactive problem-solving and supply-risk mitigation skills in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
- Experience supporting material dashboards, digital reporting, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of site HSE practices related to handling and storing construction materials.
- Previous experience in solar or EPCC projects will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel / relocate (if required)
