Overview
We are seeking an experienced RF Automation Test On-Site Engineer to serve as a technical bridge between our company and the factory’s production line. This role involves the deployment, maintenance, and optimization of automated test equipment (ATE) for RF products at the manufacturing site, as well as providing rapid response to production issues. The ideal candidate will possess solid RF testing knowledge.
Responsibilities
- On-Site Support & Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid resolution of issues related to RF test systems to maximize production line availability.
- Communicate closely with the factory’s production, test, and quality teams to address test-related issues in a timely manner.
- Support product introduction by deploying, installing, integrating, and validating RF test systems (including test instruments, switching systems, and software) at the factory site.
- Implement upgrades and modifications to existing test systems based on engineering change requests.
- Test line Setup & Optimization: Develop, debug, and maintain automation machine.
- Continuously optimize test procedures and algorithms to improve test efficiency (UPH), reduce costs, and enhance test coverage and accuracy.
- Collect and analyze production test data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports and provide data-driven insights for product and process improvement.
- Assist the client in yield analysis and improvement by identifying root causes of test failures.
- Train the operators and technicians on system operation and basic maintenance.
- Create and update technical documentation, including system configuration manuals, maintenance guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Microwave, Radio Technology, Automation, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in RF testing or test automation development. Prior on-site support experience is preferred.
- Skills:
- RF Fundamentals: In-depth understanding of RF test parameters such as power, frequency, EVM, ACLR, harmonics, sensitivity, etc.
- Instrument Proficiency: Hands-on experience with RF test equipment including VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and cellular testers.
- System Knowledge: Understanding of instrument communication buses (e.g., GPIB, LAN, USB). Familiar with PLC, ABB, NACHI and some common robots maintenance and operation.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective technical interaction with others.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to perform under pressure in a production environment.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Proactive, responsible, and self-motivated attitude.
