Position Overview
The Manufacturing and Process Engineer will be responsible for developing, improving, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across production. The role combines hands‑on process engineering with digital manufacturing expertise, particularly in ERP driven operations and industrial monitoring systems (MES). The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, enable robust new product introduction, and support compliance with ballistic, safety, and ISA9001 standards.
The Manufacturing and Process Engineer will lead the digital transformation of production operations, driving the integration and optimization of ERP, and MES systems to enhance efficiency, quality, and traceability. This role blends process engineering with automation, data‑driven decision making, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Experience in composites, ceramics, or ballistic materials is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities
Digital Manufacturing Excellence
- Manage and optimize ERP workflows for production planning, scheduling, scanning, and material traceability
- Support development and deployment of the MES system to improve visibility, OEE, and downtime response
- Configure dashboards, reporting tools, and shop‑floor data capture solutions
- Partner with IT/automation teams to ensure reliable system connectivity and machine integration
Process Development & Optimization
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes for composites, ceramics, and ballistic materials.
- Develop tooling, jigs, fixtures, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma practices to improve yield, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.
- Lead automation and industry 4.0 projects to improve traceability and productivity.
- Develop SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation
Training, Collaboration & Compliance
- Train operators and supervisors on ERP and MES, enabled workflows
- Ensure adherence to ISO9001 and relevant safety and product integrity requirements
- Support ballistic manufacturing compliance (advantage, not essential)
- Coach production teams on new processes, systems, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and ballistic/defense certification standards
Skills & Qualifications
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred (Green/Black Belt)
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in high‑mix or advanced materials environments
- Proven hands‑on experience with ERP systems (Pronto, SAP, Oracle NetSuite, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of MES platforms for real‑time monitoring
- Experience with automation, machine data connectivity, or Industry 4.0 tools
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent)
- Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, and project management skills
- Exposure to composites, ceramics, ballistic materials or defense manufacturing is a plus
