Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Process Engineer in Penang, Malaysia. Job description
Process Planning & Definition
  • Lead DFM (Design for Manufacturing) activities.
  • Participate in drawing and design reviews to provide feedback on manufacturability.
  • Evaluate and confirm inspection feasibility; define required measurement tools and methods.
  • Define and document end-to-end process flows for new products.
  • Identify and specify necessary equipment, tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Set and validate process cycle time requirements to meet capacity targets.
Process Documentation & Systems
  • Create Process Flow, Control Plan, FMEA, and Work Instructions.
  • Ensure process documentation is approved and ready before pilot builds.
  • Revise/update process documentation after pilot build with lesson learned.
  • Maintain process routings and BOM data in ERP systems (e.g., AX).
Pilot Build & Line Validation
  • Support pilot, pre-production, and qualification builds in production floor.
  • Validate actual process cycle time, study gap against planned requirements.
  • Validate process stability and capability to achieve required first pass yield.
  • Analyze build data to identify process gaps or failure modes.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Perform drop test to validate packaging design.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or NPI environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and process validation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience in creating process documentation.
  • Analytical skills to perform data analysis, root cause investigation, and capacity planning.
