Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Sports Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in stadium operations, event management, or commercial property management.
- Familiarity with Malaysia’s event permit processes, safety regulations, and local market conditions.
- Strong project coordination, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is an advantage).
- High sense of responsibility, leadership, and ability to work independently.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing sports complexes, university venues, or commercial leasing.
- Knowledge of event organization and sports facility logistics.
- Understanding of basic finance, budgeting, and contract management.
- Established network within local sports and business communities.
Responsibilities
1. Venue Operations Management
- Oversee the daily operation, scheduling, and maintenance of the stadium facilities.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for venue usage and maintenance.
- Manage booking systems to balance academic, athletic, and commercial usage.
- Coordinate with security, cleaning, and technical teams to ensure safety and service quality.
2. Event and Sports Management
- Liaise with external organizers for sports events, concerts, and exhibitions.
- Develop event execution plans covering setup, logistics, safety, and ticketing.
- Work with the marketing team to promote university-hosted events and tournaments.
- Maintain an annual events calendar and evaluate the financial and branding impact of each event.
3. Commercial and Leasing Management
- Manage the leasing of commercial spaces beneath the stadium grandstand, including retail shops and food & beverage outlets.
- Develop rental strategies, pricing models, and contract templates.
- Attract and negotiate with potential tenants, sponsors, and brand partners.
- Monitor tenant performance and review contracts regularly to ensure profitability.
4. Budgeting and Reporting
- Prepare and manage the annual stadium operations budget.
- Provide regular performance reports including utilization rates, maintenance costs, and revenue analysis.
- Recommend operational improvements to enhance cost efficiency and maximize revenue.
5. External Relations and Collaboration
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, sports associations, and corporate partners.
- Participate in negotiations for event hosting, sponsorship, and collaboration opportunities.
- Represent the university in external meetings and industry events to promote the stadium’s visibility.
