The Manager, Commercial Vehicle Product & Business Development is responsible for leading new principal engagement, product planning, business approvals, and market introduction of commercial vehicle products. This role serves as the key liaison between principals, internal stakeholders, and external authorities, ensuring successful phase‑in, compliance, and commercial readiness of commercial vehicle products.
Key Responsibilities
- Principal Management & Business Development (Commercial Vehicles)
- Act as the primary window person to potential and newly appointed commercial vehicle principals
- Lead the development of business cases and strategic business plans for new CV principals and products
- Conduct in‑depth market analysis, industry trends review, and demand forecasting to support decision‑making
- Prepare competitive benchmarking and product comparisons to support CV product planning, positioning, and development
- Lead pricing strategy formulation in collaboration with principals, sales, marketing, and finance to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Prepare, review, and manage commercial, technical, and franchise‑related agreements with principals and partners
- Coordinate the end‑to‑end product introduction process, including technical evaluation, branding strategy, and go‑to‑market readiness
- Business Approval, Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Lead and manage Franchise Holder and CKD Assembly application and approval processes for commercial vehicles
- Oversee Pre‑CKD CBU AP applications and approvals, ensuring timely submissions and regulatory compliance
- Coordinate and manage homologation processes for new commercial vehicle models, including liaison with relevant authorities and technical teams
- Ensure all approvals, documentation, and certifications are aligned with government regulations and internal governance requirements
- Product Readiness, Training & Sales Enablement
- Lead and support new commercial vehicle product and feature training for sales teams and internal stakeholders
- Ensure sales personnel have strong technical and commercial understanding of CV products, applications, and customer value propositions
- Develop and deliver product presentations, technical explanations, and use‑case justifications to potential customers, fleet operators, and key accounts
- Support customer engagement activities including product demonstrations, evaluations, and pilot programs
- Tender & Key Account Support
- Lead and support commercial vehicle tender submissions, including technical specifications, compliance documentation, and commercial inputs
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure tender responses meet customer, regulatory, and commercial requirements
- Provide technical and product expertise during tender clarifications, negotiations, and evaluations
- Cross‑Functional Leadership & Coordination
- Work closely with sales, marketing, aftersales, engineering, compliance, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of CV business initiatives
- Drive alignment between principal requirements and local market needs
- Monitor project milestones, timelines, and deliverables to ensure on‑time and successful product launches
