This individual will be responsible to provide independent and objective oversight of Operational & Information Technology Risk management supporting business segments and geographies, working with various stakeholders within Operational Risk function, First Line of Defence or across the broader Risk functions as necessary.

Description

Operational & IT Risk Oversight

• Conduct 2nd line (2LOD) testing and assurance of key controls that manage Operational and IT risks across business units and global regions.
• Review and challenge 1st line (1LOD) handling of Operational and IT risk events, including the quality of root-cause analyses.
• Provide Operational and IT risk input to other 2LOD risk domains (e.g., Third-Party Risk, Information Management, Fraud).

Reporting & Documentation

• Record all 2LOD oversight activities in the Operational Risk Management System (ORMS).
• Produce clear reports and summaries of oversight results for Operational Risk teams, highlighting key trends, issues, or exceptions.
• Prepare presentations and periodic updates to support risk committees and stakeholder discussions.
• Maintain evidence and documentation using approved templates, tools, and applications.

Risk Governance & Quality Assurance

• Support review of Operational/IT risk registers and Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) across segments and geographies.
• Conduct or support quality assurance checks to identify gaps and opportunities for enhancing risk practices.
• Assist the Department Head in monitoring execution of Operational and IT risk activities across the team.

Profile

A successful Operational & IT Risk should have:

• Experience in Operational and Information Technology Risk Management or specific Operational and Information Technology domains (1LOD or 2LOD)
• Experience in a broader Operational/IT Risk function/role including experience in Internal Audit.
• Experience in 1LOD Operations, 1LOD IT or 1LOD Risk in Retail banking/ Commercial Banking/ Capital Markets/ Wealth Management/Insurance.
• Experience in IT Risk and Cybersecurity such as IT risk policies and frameworks, ITGC, IT Due Diligence, Cybersecurity, Cloud Security, End-Point and Infrastructure security, Access Controls and Security Operations.
• Ability to work in a matrixed/ global environment actively managing a diverse group of stakeholders across different geographies
