A leading pharmaceutical company in Malaysia is seeking a strategic planner to support the Senior Manager in identifying growth opportunities and developing a robust corporate strategy. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields and a minimum of 5 years of working experience. Strong analytical and leadership skills are essential. Support the Senior Manager in scanning the business environment for insights and trends to identify key growth opportunities that will create sustainable competitive advantages for the Company.
Assist in developing a feasible, implementable, and robust 10-year corporate/departmental strategic plan, ensuring alignment with market opportunities through re-allocation of business portfolios and functional deliverables.
Contribute to project management by sustaining momentum in strategy execution and instilling discipline to achieve commitments to strategic initiatives.
Develop and update corporate strategies, prioritizing major cross-functional initiatives through analysis of internal performance and external market trends.
Provide strategic advice to the Senior Manager and Senior Management team on key issues, including strategic initiatives, business unit plans, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and investments, using rigorous analysis and systems-level thinking.
Conduct annual strategy review and update sessions with Senior Management and the Board of Directors, resulting in an updated Corporate Strategy.
Link strategic business opportunities with product development by aligning business imperatives with technological possibilities and limitations.
Drive corporate planning and track functional deliverables, ensuring updates and action items are prepared for Senior Management meetings and company-wide discussions to align with Company objectives.
Evaluate proposals for initiatives and investments to ensure alignment with strategic direction, sustainable growth, and cross-functional business coherence.
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Business, Economics, or Finance.
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
Strong background in quantitative analysis (e.g., financial modelling, data analysis).
Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear insights to senior executives.
Ability to synthesize individual issues into broader themes with long-term impact.
Experience in analysing and quantifying complex strategic issues linked to business growth.
Creative and comfortable working on open-ended or exploratory assignments.
Computer literate and digitally savvy.
Strong leadership qualities.
Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Results-oriented with a focus on execution.
Strong interpersonal skills for managing internal and external stakeholders effectively.
