Overview

The Corporate Communications Group delivers world-class communications to inform and engage key stakeholders and bring Lam’s brand to life on a global scale. They lead our internal and executive communications, executive thought leadership, social presence, and philanthropic efforts through volunteering and the Lam Foundation.

Impact you’ll make

As the Malaysia Communications Manager, you will play a critical role creating and executing strategic programs that span all communications channels and formats. These programs should align with our key business objectives and advance Lam’s brand and reputation goals locally, regionally, and globally.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic communications counsel to Lam Manufacturing Malaysia leaders, building impactful plans, partnering with a variety of stakeholders to develop compelling content, and effectively amplifying our messages to relevant audiences. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Global Operations Communications, you will be responsible for helping us shape our narrative, inspire our workforce, bring our brand to life and influence perceptions of Lam among key audiences. This position requires strong cross-team collaboration across multiple functions and close partnership with corporate communications teammates across Asia and in the US.

You Will
  • Develop and execute communications strategies including employee and executive communications, intranet storytelling and social media.
  • Deliver effective communications to office-based employees and manufacturing shift employees.
  • Implement communications programs that help local leaders align and engage employees to achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Cultivate internal and external relationships to create opportunities to drive positive messaging about Lam’s innovation, growth, global impact programs, special events, public announcements, and other projects.
  • Prepare talking points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting materials for industry keynotes as needed.
  • Exercise excellent judgment to provide communications counsel to senior executives on fast-moving, complex, and sensitive communications topics.
  • Manage and engage with agencies and contractors on various projects and initiatives, maintaining appropriate project timelines to meet required deadlines.
  • Drive continuous improvement in our communications activities, utilizing data and analytics to make recommendations and continually raise the bar on quality and impact.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications for multinational public companies.
  • Adept at supporting senior-level executives with impactful communications.
  • Demonstrated success in crafting and executing internal communications strategies, especially with non-desk shift employees working in manufacturing and logistics environments.
  • Proven record of leading projects with multiple stakeholders across functions.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills, challenge the status quo, and recommend unique approaches to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • A passion for engaging in new and innovative communication methods to drive breakthrough audience experiences.
  • Excellent command of English and fluent in Bahasa Melayu.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to quickly understand complex business issues to distill messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Skillful at building effective relationships with key partners across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Ability to act with urgency, juggle multiple projects without significant oversight, and follow through to their impactful execution.
  • Experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong team spirit, positive outlook, and sense of humor.
  • Fluency in Chinese would be bonus.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
