Job Summary:

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to handle troubleshooting and maintenance of automated storage and retrieval systems, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, and lifts. The role ensures minimal downtime, safe operation, and continuous material flow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
    • Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on ASRS equipment, conveyors, lifts, shuttles, and control panels.
    • Lubricate and clean mechanical components to prevent wear and malfunction.
    • Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track and log maintenance tasks.
  2. Troubleshooting & Repairs:
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or control system failures.
    • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, sensors, actuators, and motors.
    • Collaborate with OEM support for complex failures.
  3. System Monitoring & Optimization:
    • Monitor system performance and report anomalies or recurring faults.
    • Make real-time adjustments to improve machine performance and reduce downtime.
    • Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues.
  4. Safety & Compliance:
    • Follow warehouse safety protocols and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
    • Inspect safety devices such as light curtains, emergency stops, and barriers.
    • Ensure ASRS operation complies with safety regulations and policies.
  5. Inventory & Documentation:
    • Maintain records of maintenance work, parts used, and fault logs.
    • Assist in managing spare parts inventory for ASRS components.
    • Update equipment documentation and electrical schematics after modifications.
  6. Team Support & Communication:
    • Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
    • Support system upgrades or new installations.
    • Train operators in basic troubleshooting and safe use of ASRS systems.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent. Certifications are a plus.
  • Strong technical skills in electrical maintenance & troubleshooting (motors, sensors, relays, PLCs) and mechanical skills (bearings, conveyors, lifts, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics).
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance software and logs.
  • Basic networking and automation system software skills are advantageous.
  • Preferably 2+ years of experience with warehouse automation systems or equipment maintenance.
  • Experience with ASRS maintenance is preferred.
  • Knowledge of occupational safety regulations.
  • Responsibility, discipline, and commitment to maintenance quality.
  • Ability to learn new equipment and technologies continuously.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, including cross-functional collaboration with Operations and IT, and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem identification.
