Job description

The Maintenance Engineer ensures the smooth operation of milling, conveying, and packaging equipment in the mill. The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximize production efficiency and uphold food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Schedule and perform routine servicing of roller mills, sifters, pneumatic systems, conveyors, and packaging machines.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, carry out repairs, and minimize downtime.
• Calibration & Quality Assurance: Maintain accuracy of weighing, measuring, and milling equipment to meet production standards.
• Project Support: Assist in installation, modification, and commissioning of new machinery and automation systems.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to workplace safety, food safety, and hygiene regulations (e.g., dust control, explosion prevention).
• Documentation: Record maintenance activities, breakdowns, and corrective actions in line with audit requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.
• Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2-3 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing, food processing, or mill operations is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and technical expertise in mechanical maintenance.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD for technical drawings is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SAP or other maintenance management systems is a plus.
• Good leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to manage a technical team.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
