Job summary

A leading retail company in Malaysia is seeking an M & E Engineer for its Project Department. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include overseeing pricing, managing contractual matters, coordinating design and installation of services, and providing technical support to the operations team. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects and ensure compliance throughout all phases. The role is based in Pandamaran, Port Klang.

• Obtain quotations, liaise with suppliers & subcontractors.
• Provide technical expertise and support to operations team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Overview

We are seeking a M & E Engineer to join our Project Department. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Mechanical and Electrical and the ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, authorities, and contractors throughout all project phases — from concept to completion. This role supports the company’s nationwide expansion of supermarkets and hypermarkets, ensuring safe, cost-efficient, and compliant structural design and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Controlling & monitoring pricing and costing
• Administering contractual matters such as variation order, extension of time, loss and expenses, project cost control, etc
• Co-ordination on the design, execution and installation works, testing and commissioning of Mechanical and Electrical Services and associated works as well as other related services.
• Attend client / project meeting & negotiation
• Oversee the financial contract administration throughout the project duration
• Obtain quotations, liaise with various suppliers & sub‑cons
• Provide technical expertise and support to the operations team, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our mechanical engineering processes and practices

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Familiar with project-related items market rate
• Preferably 1-3 years working experience at similar position
• Applicants must willing work at Pandamaran, Port Klang
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• 5 working days (Monday to Friday 8:30 to 6pm)
