Job summary

A logistics company in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Logistics Officer for Imports & Exports. This full-time role includes managing international and domestic shipments, accurately processing sea freight documentation, and ensuring all required documents are received for import clearances. Candidates must hold a diploma in Shipping Management or Business and have at least 3 years of experience in the logistics industry, with strong communication skills in English, BM, and Mandarin/Chinese.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification: Diploma in Shipping Management or Business.
  • Some 3 years experience working with a freight forwarding/logistics industry.
  • Current knowledge of sea/ocean freight documentation and procedures is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all necessary documents are received from overseas offices.

Skills

•Position title: Logistics Officer-Imports & Exports.

•Position type: Permanent; Full-time.

•Salary: RM 3500-4500.

•Job location: Based at Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

The Logistics Role

The Logistics Officer will utilize knowledge of import/export operations in carrying out duties, including the issuing, certification and authorization of a wide range of export and import documentation, duties and tax issues, shipping terms and method of payment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate international and domestic shipments.
  • Process all sea freight documentation accurately and within agreed time frames.
  • Ensure that all necessary documents are received from overseas offices to enable import shipments and clearances to take place.
  • Update information in the computer systems with manifesting data in accordance with shipper's instructions.
  • Input data into management system.
  • Ensure charges are assigned to the correct payers.
  • Check and verify Bill of Lading/invoice print.
