Logistics & Asset Reliability Coordinator

HMT INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. – Batu Pahat, Johor

The Logistics and Asset Reliability Coordinator is responsible for coordinating logistics activities and ensuring the reliability, availability, and proper maintenance of company assets. This role supports operational efficiency by managing asset movement, maintenance coordination, inventory control, and reliability reporting while working closely with operations, maintenance, and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics & Asset Coordination

  • Coordinate the movement, allocation, and tracking of company assets, equipment, and spare parts
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials and critical spares
  • Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments to support operational needs
  • Monitor delivery schedules, documentation, and logistics costs

Asset Reliability & Maintenance Support

  • Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance records, and service histories
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities with internal teams and contractors
  • Monitor asset performance, downtime, and reliability indicators
  • Assist in identifying recurring equipment issues and support root cause analysis
  • Ensure assets comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards
  • Prepare reports on asset utilization, maintenance performance, and downtime
  • Support reliability improvement initiatives to reduce equipment failure and operational disruption
  • Assist in budgeting and planning for maintenance, spare parts, and asset replacement

Coordination & Compliance

  • Act as a key liaison between operations, maintenance, and logistics teams
  • Support audits, inspections, and asset lifecycle management activities
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal procedures

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field

Experience in logistics coordination, asset management, vehicle maintenance support service center/workshop a definite added advantage.

Knowledge of asset management or CMMS systems is an advantage

Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills

2-3 years of proven working experience in similar role

Organizational and Time Management Skills: Essential for managing multiple tasks, schedules, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Problem-Solving Abilities: The capacity to quickly identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues, such as shipment delays or damaged goods.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders, from warehouse staff to senior management and external vendors.

Technical Proficiency: Competence in using logistics software (ERP, WMS, TMS) and standard office software, especially Microsoft Excel, for data entry, analysis, and reporting.

Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in reviewing documentation and tracking data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
