Job summary

A consultancy firm in Malaysia is seeking a Lighting Design Manager to oversee lighting design projects from concept to completion. The successful candidate will manage project workflows, supervise junior designers, and liaise with clients and contractors. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in related fields and a degree or diploma in Electrical, Architecture, or related fields. Strong design skills and communication abilities are essential for this role.

Job description

Responsibilities:

· Produce lighting design including concept presentations, drawings, and calculations.

· Cooperate with electrical teams, clients, and other consultants

· Guide and oversee lighting designers

· Present lighting strategies to client and other consultant

· Provide lighting design and project management from Concept Design to Testing & Commissioning and final handover.

· Manage manpower planning, project workflow, task delegation, project & deliverables scheduling and project progress.

· Liaise closely and exercise full co-operation with fellow Senior Designers.

· Supervise junior designers, provide assistance and report to Division Head.

· Manage project budget and handle project finance administration.

· Attend project meetings, and co-ordinate with Clients, Consultants, Contractors.

· Provide project technical support on site and site inspections as required.

· Prepare lighting design concept presentation and make presentation to the Owner and Consultants.

· Prepare and review design, design process & documentation, tender documentation and other related administrative documentation.

· Assisting Lead Design Consultant in URA and BCA Green Mark Lighting Submission.

· Manage defect liabilities and assist in client support.

· Promote esprit de corps amongst colleagues.

· Assist Division Head in business development, marketing and other business management.

· Responsible to participate and support the Company’s SHEQ within their scope of duties.

Requirement:

- Minimum 3 years’ of related working experience

- Degree or Diploma in Electrical/ Architecture/ Product Design/ Interior Design

- Proficient in common design analysis software like Photoshop, Dialux, etc

- Have strong design flair

- Good communication and presentation skills

- A good team leader/player
