Job summary

A leading cybersecurity firm is looking for a Legal Officer / Manager to lead contract management and legal advisory efforts. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in commercial legal advisory and compliance roles. Key responsibilities include overseeing contracts, supporting governance frameworks, and maintaining legal documentation. Candidates with in-house legal experience are preferred. This is a permanent role based in Petaling Jaya, offering a competitive salary package up to RM12,000 plus bonuses.

Position Title: Legal Officer / Manager

Working Location: Damansara Utama

Working Hours: 5 days (Mon – Fri, 9.00am – 6.00pm)

Salary Package: Basic salary up to RM12,000 + Flexi Bonus + Variable Bonus

Duration: Permanent Role

Key Responsibilities
A. Contracts Management & Legal Advisory

Lead and oversee the drafting, review, and advisory support for NDAs/confidentiality agreements, customer/vendor/partner contracts, reseller/channel/distribution agreements, professional services/consultancy agreements, and software licensing/SaaS/subscription agreements.

Identify and evaluate legal, commercial, financial, and compliance risks.

Recommend negotiation positions and ways to reduce risk to relevant stakeholders.

Ensure contracts comply with applicable local and international laws/regulations, company policies/internal controls, and group legal/governance standards; provide guidance on contract interpretation, obligations, and dispute avoidance.

Provide guidance on contract meaning, obligations, and how to avoid disputes.

B. Compliance, Governance & Internal Controls

Support and strengthen corporate governance and compliance frameworks, including contract approval/delegation of authority, internal policy/SOP development, and cross-entity/cross-border compliance alignment.

Monitor legal and regulatory changes that may affect the business.

Support risk management, internal control reviews, and compliance reporting.

Take part in due diligence, audits, and regulatory reviews.

C. Documentation, Policy & Records Management

Maintain a structured contract repository / legal document management system.

Track contract renewals/expiries, key obligations/milestones, and approval/compliance records.

Ensure documents are accurate, consistent, and ready for audit when needed.

Experience supporting or advising on technology / software / cybersecurity / SaaS matters.

Experience working in regional or multi-entity organisations is an advantage.

In‑house legal experience is preferred.

Admission to practise law is an advantage.
