Job summary

A legal practice in Malaysia is seeking a Junior Legal Associate in Dispute Resolution. The ideal candidate is passionate about litigation, eager to learn, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Responsibilities include handling litigation matters, drafting legal documents, conducting research, and attending court hearings. Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is required. Legal Associate (Junior) – Dispute Resolution & China Desk/ Chambering

We are looking for a legal associate who is passionate about advocacy, eager to learn, and ready to contribute meaningfully to a fast-evolving legal practice.

What You’ll Do:
  • Handling a variety of civil and commercial litigation matters, including managing case files from initiation to conclusion.
  • Draft cause papers, submissions, legal opinions, and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and support strategic case planning.
  • Attend court hearings, case managements, trials, and client meetings.
  • Assist in advising and managing foreign clients’ business-related matters in Malaysia, including review of agreements and compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and admitted to the Malaysian Bar.
  • Newly qualified lawyer is encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin (written and spoken).
  • Passionate about litigation and eager to expand into cross-border and commercial matters.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision (not applicable to Chambering position), while being accountable and meticulous.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and willing to learn in a fast-paced, professional setting.
  • Experience or exposure in construction-related disputes is an added advantage.
