A leading legal institution located in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, seeks a Legal Associate for general litigation tasks, including drafting legal documents and court attendance. Job description
Legal Associate – General Litigation
  1. Prepare and draft cause papers, including statements of claim, defences, affidavits, submissions and various court applications (interlocutory).
  2. Conduct in-depth legal research on points of law, analyse case law and prepare research notes and legal opinions for partners and clients.
  3. Attend court for case managements, mentions and hearings independently or with senior lawyers.
  4. Assist in managing case files from inception to conclusion, including organising documents, maintaining deadlines and handling the court's e‑filing system.
  5. Communicate with clients to provide case updates, liaise with opposing counsel and coordinate with court staff and other relevant authorities.
  6. Provide comprehensive support to senior lawyers and partners in preparation for trials, including assisting with witness preparation, compiling bundles of documents and taking notes during proceedings.
Administration Clerk
  1. Handle daily office administrative tasks, including filing, scanning and photocopying documents.
  2. Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
  3. Manage all incoming and outgoing mail, parcels and courier services.
  4. Monitor, maintain and order office supplies (e.g., stationery, pantry items).
  5. Provide general administrative support to the management and other departments.
  6. Assist in any ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by the Partners.
Qualifications – Legal Associate (General Litigation)
  1. 0‑1 year Post‑Qualification Experience (PQE).
  2. Must be an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
  3. Strong command of English & Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
  4. Possesses a genuine passion for advocacy and civil litigation.
  5. Meticulous, responsible and able to travel when required.
  6. Possesses good interpersonal and communication skills.
  7. Able to start work immediately or on short notice is an advantage.
Qualifications – Administration Clerk
  1. Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
  2. School leavers are strongly encouraged to apply.
  3. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
  4. Good communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (written and spoken).
  5. Possesses a positive working attitude, responsible and willing to learn.
  6. Organised, meticulous and able to manage time well.
  7. Able to start work immediately or on short notice is an advantage.
