A leading financial messaging provider is looking for a Quality Assurance Lead in Kuala Lumpur. The role involves developing and implementing QA strategies, overseeing test automation, and collaborating with development teams. Lead Strategy and Vision for Quality Assurance: Develop and implement a forward‑looking strategy for QA and test automation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Create a clear vision for quality across all stages of development and operations, working closely with stakeholders to drive improvements in software quality, performance and test coverage.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and maintainable quality assurance framework overseeing all aspects of quality assurance, including but not limited to test automation, manual testing regression testing, performance testing, and release validation.
Organise and control requirements/design reviews of the products with all parties concerned, ensure testability and become acquainted with new products.
Ensure homogeneity in testing processes and propose process improvements for testing activities.
Kafka and ELK specific testing focus such as but not limited to data ingestion, index and query performance, log analysis, ELK stack integration testing.
Promote the use of improved test automation tools within the team.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
Design and execute test plans, analyze test results, and provide detailed reports on application quality.
Manage and maintain test automation code repositories using Git.
Perform data validation and manipulation for various testing scenarios.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in test automation.
8 to 10 years of experience within a testing or development environment; 5 years of experience in testing; Advantage for experience in Kafka and ELK stack.
University degree in Computer Science, software engineer or equivalent.
Practical experience with Automation/DevOps tools (Git / BitBucket / RobotFramework / Cloudbees / Openshift / Ansible / Docker).
Proficiency in both Windows and Linux OS
Troubleshooting skills in complex environments and variety of technologies.
Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g. Python, PowerShell, YAML) with the ability to develop tools and infrastructure as code (Preferably Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures, including REST and SOAP APIs.
Experience working within an Agile‑driven environment.
Practical experience in building metrics for data‑driven reporting.
Strong interpersonal skills with a customer‑centric mindset and ability to work effectively across diverse cultures.
Proven ability to collaborate with both local and remote teams across different time zones.
Familiarity or experience with data ingestion with big data technologies (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and Kafka) is an advantage.
Hands‑on experience with ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Continual Improvement) is an advantage.
Knowledge of Swift products and messaging services (Alliance Access, SwiftNet…) is an advantage.
Knowledge of Atlassian products (Jira/Confluence/…) is an advantage.
Knowledge of ServiceNow) is an advantage.
