A leading insurance company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a candidate to lead the support and enhancement of its General Insurance Core application system. This role requires hands-on support, incident resolution, and collaboration across teams. The ideal applicant will possess strong Java skills, SQL experience, and a minimum of 9 years in a relevant field. It’s essential to have a Bachelor's in Computer Science and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work outside standard hours is also necessary.
To lead the support and enhancement of General Insurance Core application system, particularly ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
The role involves hands‑on General Insurance Core application support, incident resolution, and collaboration across IT and business teams.
Provide 1st Level support for General Insurance Core application and other interfacing applications.
Provide quality technical solution, develop out of box solutions with considerations on meeting IT architecture standards.
Manage BAU activities including incident resolution, patching, and performance tuning.
Support onboarding of new applications and integration into General Insurance Core application system.
Accountable for implementation timeline on enhancement pertaining to General Insurance Core application, including product launch.
Monitor application vulnerabilities and apply mitigation strategies.
Lead and mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps culture.
Takes accountability, but not limited to, business requirements document, design / system architecture specifications, system test and integration plan, technical impact assessment and source code documentation.
Carry out day‑to‑day end‑of‑day processing support.
Manage and review vendor functional test results, deployment release note and package.
Provide periodical health report on General Insurance Core application.
Conduct system and integration testing.
Coordinate and work with business users, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders on day‑to‑day basis on SIT, UAT and Production Support, users’ queries and database related issues.
Be able to analyze logs from servers and troubleshoot issues.
