A healthcare laboratory in Klang City seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee lab operations and ensure compliance with ISO standards. The candidate must have 5-7 years of lab experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Responsibilities include managing safety procedures, ensuring quality of results, and staff performance reviews. The role offers the opportunity to lead a team and improve lab processes in a dynamic environment.
The Laboratory Manager will include managing overall lab operations in accordance with ISO 15189:2012 requirement; developing procedures to ensure safety, security, quality, and accuracy of results; designing and performing test procedures; analyzing requests for tests and equipment; tending to administrative and management matters; consulting with principal clients; and assisting in budgeting.
To ensure that a roster is prepared
To formally review staff performance on an annual basis
To continuously assess the training and competency of staff
To ensure that all processes and procedures comply with Quality Documentation and to assist in the routine functions of the laboratory to ensure consistent service.
To regularly liaise with the Regional Laboratory Manager, HODs and Core Lab Manager with regards to process improvement
To ensure that all corrective action taken with respect to testing processes is correctly and adequately documented.
Perform and oversee complex histological techniques, including tissue embedding, sectioning, and specialized staining.
Regularly monitor QC, calibration, instrument log book records to ensure compliance with SOPs, correct filing.
To monitor the arrival times of couriers, completion, checking and filing of courier round sheets is completed according to documented procedures.
To report any deviation in writing to the Head of Department Logistics.
To review the courier rounds at least every 2 months and document recommendations to the courier supervisor or Head of Department Logistics any changes in scheduling / processes / procedures.
Minimum 5 to 7 year's of working experience in a laboratory setting, with preferably at least 3 years in a supervisory position.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Lab Technology, Biomedical Science, or any other related majors.
Able to work on rotational shift / on-call duties if required.
Phlebotomy skills is an added advantage.
