Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is looking for a Laboratory Technician in Selangor, Malaysia. The successful candidate will manage laboratory operations in line with GLP and GMP standards. Responsibilities include conducting tests, ensuring calibration of equipment, and maintaining safety protocols. A degree in Chemistry or a related field is required, along with 1-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting. Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential, and familiarity with ISO13485 is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Exposure in medical device industry is an advantage.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory operations per GLP/GMP requirements.
  • Ensure proper validation and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare solutions and perform testing as per SOP.
  • Assist in quality investigations and maintain laboratory safety.

Job description
Job Responsibilities
Laboratory
  1. To manage the laboratory operationinaccordance to GLP, GMP andQualitySystem requirements.
  2. Ensure that all laboratory equipment is validated, calibrated and maintained as per GLPrequirement.
  3. Ensure all laboratory tests are performed in timely manner and ensure the resultsare properly reviewed prior to raw material/product release.
  4. To prepare reagent/standard solutions required for testing according to SOP.
  5. To perform raw material/product sampling and carry out laboratory tests according tovalidated test method and/or SOP.
  6. Assist in investigation in the event of test result out of specification.
  7. Ensure inventories of supplies and stocks on hand for laboratory use.
  8. Responsible on laboratory housekeeping and safety.
  9. Maintain raw data and technical records generated from testing.
  10. Authorize to sign certificate of analysis when required (certified/accredited chemist only).
Calibration
  1. Manage internal and external parties on calibration activities (off-site/on-site/in-houseverification).
  2. Maintain master equipment.
  3. Monitor the calibration due date of all equipment/machine that required calibration.
  4. Coordinate with external calibrators to perform off-site or on-site calibration.
  5. Perform in-house verification when required.
  6. Manage and maintain the certificates/records of calibration/verification.
  7. To release the calibrated equipment/machine for production use.
  8. Authorized to withdraw the equipment/machine from production use in the event ofcalibration out of tolerance.
Test Method Validation/Test Method Transfer
  1. Assist in testmethod validation/test method transfer related to analyticaltesting when required.
  2. Carry out test method validation.
Other Quality Matters
  1. Complying strictly to the company’s rules and regulations that are stipulated in theEmployment letter and the HR Manual.
  2. To comply with all approved standard operating procedures, work instruction and guidelinesthat had been trained on.
  3. Attend to any other job as assigned by superior and complete the assignment given within theagreed time frame.
  4. To assist and report all quality related matters to superior.
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must possess Degree in Chemistry or science related field or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ working experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Candidates with exposure in medical device industry will have added advantage.
  • Preferably candidate with good knowledge of ISO13485, GMP & PIC/s.
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
  • Able to handle laboratory equipment preferably HPLC, GC-MS, FTIR, etc.
  • Willing to learn, independent, initiative and proactive
  • Self-motivated and able to work in a team and with minimum supervision
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
