A financial services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to provide technical support and ensure smooth daily operations of IT systems. The ideal candidate holds a Professional Certificate or Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology and has at least one year of practical experience in an IT department. You will assist in implementing IT solutions, manage projects, and communicate requirements effectively. Competence in both Malay and English is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the company.
• Ensure normal day-to-day operations of servers, computers, and other hardware/peripheral devices in the office.
• Assist in implementing short-term and long-term information technology solutions that meet the needs of the organization.
• Supervise project activities.
• Create and maintain a project schedule for each project by identifying and monitoring.
• Monitor daily progress of projects and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Manage expectations, control and track project performance.
• Report project status on a weekly basis to customers and the project team.
• Coordinate with other departments and organizational entities to identify and monitor issues, impacts, and dependencies.
• Communicate with vendors and the project manager to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.

Job Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Work under minimum supervision and exhibit a sense of urgency in responding to technical support.
• Have good communication skills to convey the rationale of system enhancements and deliver solutions from vendors.
• Good knowledge of Dell computer hardware, computer troubleshooting, and fundamentals of networking such as LAN, WAN & Security.
• Required languages: Malay & English.
• Knowledge of Oracle SQL is an added advantage.
• Have at least one year of practical experience in an IT department.
• Full time and contract-basis positions are available.
