A leading recruitment firm is seeking an IT Manager in Penang, Malaysia, to oversee and optimize the IT department's operations, develop strategies, and manage related projects. This role requires at least 8 years of experience with strong leadership capabilities, hands-on expertise in enterprise systems, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with other departments to implement cost-effective technology solutions while maintaining IT governance standards and enhancing infrastructure aligned with business needs.
Oversee and optimize the overall operations of the IT department to support and align with the organization’s business goals.
Plan, allocate, and manage IT resources while establishing clear objectives and performance targets.
Develop, execute, and maintain IT strategies, frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures.
Manage information systems by coordinating IT activities, assessing operational effectiveness, and leading the IT team efficiently.
Guide and motivate the team to leverage technology as a strategic enabler while supporting and educating end-user departments.
Lead IT-related projects, manage budgets, drive continuous process improvements, and address operational challenges effectively.
Ensure proper design, development, and execution of IT processes to maintain high-quality outcomes and deliverables.
Enhance and maintain IT infrastructure, including enterprise servers, network performance, and system security, in line with business needs.
Work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Establish and enforce IT governance, best practices, and compliance standards across the organization.
Work closely with infrastructure and application teams to troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent system and operational issues.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Strong leadership and organizational capabilities with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and adapt to changing business demands.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Solid technical expertise combined with strong business acumen.
Well-established vendor and service provider management and negotiation skills.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
Hands-on experience with enterprise systems and technologies, including SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Office tools, Power BI, MS SQL Server, HCL email, Lotus Notes (forms and workflows), .NET, VMware environments, and exposure to digital transformation initiatives.
