Job description

Aker Solutions is seeking an experienced Isometric Checker to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. As an Isometric Checker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our engineering deliverables. This full‑time position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading global engineering and construction company.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Reviewing and checking isometric drawings to verify their compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and project requirements
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues in isometric drawings
• Collaborating with project teams to provide feedback and recommendations for improvements
• Maintaining detailed records and documentation of the checking process
• Supporting the overall quality assurance and control processes within the organisation

What We’re Looking For

• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting isometric drawings and P&IDs
• Experience with software tools such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant, or other 3D modeling applications, as well as a good understanding of related technical standards
• Knowledge of engineering principles, piping systems, and materials commonly used in industrial settings
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills to identify and address discrepancies
• Good communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross‑functional teams
• Working knowledge of industry codes and standards related to piping systems, such as ASME standards
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience in a similar role may also be considered
• Prior experience in the oil and gas or engineering design industry would be an asset
