A global healthcare company is seeking an experienced Human Capital Specialist in Kulim, Malaysia. The role involves managing HC operations, partnering with internal clients, and overseeing compliance with labor laws and policies. Candidates should possess a minimum diploma in HR management and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills in both English and Malay are essential. This position offers the opportunity to lead organizational strategies and handle employee relations effectively.
Responsible for the overall process relevant to HC and forming business partnerships with internal customers to support their HC-related functions, while also overseeing routine HC Operations.
Interprets pay policies, (e.g., LOA, workers compensation, government, and statutory regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and attend to all associates HC related enquiries
Assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings, related documentation. Perform audits.
Manage transportation
Manage plant onboarding and offboarding process if required.
Carry out all other activities / assignments as and when required.
Coordinate and execute key benefits events at plant level
Consults with business leaders on talent, leadership, business strategy, organization development, rewards, and culture.
Identifies and shares root causes of human resources issued with relevant HC function to shape global HC programs and policies.
Scans and benchmarks the marketplace to identify and leverage best practices and trends to influence the business and HC agenda.
Viewed as a strategic business partner and change agent
Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., rewards and recognition review, workforce planning, culture, and organizational change).
Manages escalations and dispute resolutions through company programs and policies
Carry out all other activities / assignments as and when required.
Planning, developing and implementing human resources activities/services in accordance to company policies, objectives and goals; serving as an advisor to management on matters relating to employees.
Coordinating employee relations activities.
Assisting with implementation of corporate and local policies and procedures.
Providing technical guidance and expertise to management personnel regarding policies, procedures and problems affecting employee relations.
Assisting in administration of Company policies and procedures, including the disciplinary action program. Maintaining disciplinary action database.
Responsible for labor relations functions and maintaining necessary activities that promote the proper Union/Management relations
Ensuring legal and policy compliance for all issues pertaining to employee and labor relations.
Providing timely communication to Supervisors and JCC personnel regarding new initiatives and policies, including relevant regulatory updates. Working closely with managers and supervisors to monitor and communicate all phases of employment related issues, contractual interp retations, labor relations issues, and past practices.
Providing direction and assistance to Human Resources professionals regarding labor and human resources matters.
Managing the development, interpretation and application of company policies, and procedures, labor relations, contract administration, grievance handling, employee counseling, and discipline.
Minimum Diploma in Business / HR Administration / HR Management or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years experience in general HC administration at similar level.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of HC management practices, local labor law and industrial relations principles.
Conducted or able to conduct in-house training on basic HC topics.
Working knowledge of Kaizen, Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing activities is preferred.
Strong oral and written proficiency in both English and Malay language.
