A leading engineering consulting firm in Malaysia is seeking a qualified civil engineer to oversee infrastructure design and project management. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing designs that meet local authority requirements and engineering standards. Responsibilities include coordinating with clients and stakeholders, conducting site inspections, and ensuring quality assurance. Candidates should hold a degree in Civil Engineering and be familiar with engineering software like Civil 3D and MIDAS.
Prepare and develop infrastructure design, including earthworks, roadworks, drainage systems, water supply, and sewerage.
Perform infrastructure analysis and calculations for infrastructure components using engineering software (e.g., Civil 3D, MIDAS).
Ensure designs comply with local authorities’ requirements, engineering standards, and project specifications.
Review and interpret topographic surveys.
Coordinate with internal C&S teams to ensure interface compatibility between infrastructure and structural works.
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and local authorities.
Prepare and submit technical reports, design reports, and authority submission documents.
Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed according to schedule.
Assist in preparing tender documents, bill of quantities (BQ), cost estimates, and technical proposals, if necessary.
Conduct periodical site inspections, monitor construction progress, and ensure works comply with approved designs.
Provide technical support to site teams during construction.
Resolve site issues by proposing feasible engineering solutions.
Verify contractors’ work quality through method statement reviews, material inspections, and testing records.
Prepare and manage submissions to authorities (e.g., JKR, JPS, IWK, TNB, SYABAS/Air Selangor, MBPP/MBPJ/DBKL).
Follow up on approvals and comments, and ensure timely resubmissions.
Ensure all infrastructure works meet regulatory requirements, safety guidelines, and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, revisions, correspondence, and technical records.
Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, if necessary.
Attend technical meetings and record minutes.
Stay updated with new engineering technologies, design standards, and construction methods.
Participate in design review workshops, value engineering sessions, and risk assessments.
